Thogaiyal

Karugappilai thogayal 


Ingrediants 


Urad dhall two table spoons
Red chillies 4
coconut two table spoons
Karugappilai one small cup
green chilles two
Ginger a small piece
Salt
vellam
tamarind - a small goose berry size

Method 


First fry the urad dhall and chillies
and add karugappilai and ginger
and fry that also for two mts first
put all the ingrediants and

grind it a little coarsely

this will be good with thayir sadam

kothamalli thogayal


Thogayal can be made with coriander also
using coriander leaves instead of karugappilai
all the other ingrediants will be the same
exept ginger

Other Variations


Asafoitida can be added for both the thogayals

For karugappilai thogayal
we can add some gingellyseeds or ellu fried well
and add it when we grind it
and it will have a nice flavour
This will be done for some special occations like sradham
